Bulldogs split North Division opener with East Mississippi

GOODMAN --- The Holmes Community College Bulldogs split two games here Wednesday with the East Mississippi Lions, losing 8-6 in game one and winning game two, 4-1.

The Bulldogs went to 9-7 overall and will host Itawamba Community College Saturday in a division doubleheader starting at 2 p.m. The games can be watched live on the Holmes iHigh channel at holmesathletics.ihigh.com.

In game one, Steven Blanchard took the loss. The Bulldogs blew a 6-2 lead in the top of the sixth when East Mississippi scored five runs. In the seventh inning, East scored another run to pull ahead 8-6. In game two, Chris Hutchinson got the win in game two.
