Bulldogs take two from Coahoma Tigers; improve to 15-14 overall and 5-5 in the North
CLARKSDALE --- The Holmes Community College Bulldogs improved to 15-14 overall and 5-5 in the North Division here Thursday after picking up two North Division wins over Coahoma Community College, 12-0 and 13-2.
In game one, Jason Hursey picked up the win and went to 2-2 overall on the season. Hursey pitched five innings and gave up one hit to the Tigers striking out four and walking one. Josh Crowder and Steven Blanchard led the Bulldogs with three hits each with Blanchard adding a double. LaDerik Williams and Jaylan Bledsoe each had two hits while Chris Steverson, Remarcus Stalling and Payden Lynch each added a hit with Steverson and Lynch's hits being doubles.
In game two, Jared Bailey picked up the win and went to 2-0 on the season. He pitched 2 1/3 innings giving up one hit striking out two and walking none. Crowder, Jordan Taylor, Blanchard and Bledsoe each had two hits with Blanchard adding a triple. Williams, and Trey Goff added a hit each.
The Bulldogs are set to play the Itawamba Community College Indians on Wednesday in a 3 p.m. doubleheader. The games can be watched at holmesathletics.ihigh.com.
