Bulldogs fall twice to Delta; fall to 16-17 overall and 6-8 in the division

MOORHEAD --- The Holmes Community College Bulldogs fell to the Mississippi Delta Community College Trojans, 4-2 and 11-1, here Tuesday.

With the loss, the Bulldogs fell below .500 both overall and in division play with a record of 16-17 overall and 6-8 in the North Division. Holmes hosts Itawamba on Friday in division play in a doubleheader starting at 1 p.m. The games can be watched live at holmesathletics.ihigh.com.

In game one, Steven Blanchard suffered the loss. He pitched six innings giving up four runs on six hits and struck out five. Josh Crowder led the Bulldogs at the plate with two hits including a triple while Blanchard, Cole McBride, and Chris Steverson each had one hit.

In game two, Jason Hursey suffered the loss. Hursey gave up four runs on three hits in 1 1/3 innings of work. The Bulldogs went hitless in game two.
