Bulldog baseball still has work to do to make the MACJC State Tournament
With two weeks left to play in the regular season, the Holmes Community College Bulldogs find themselves two games below .500 and in fifth place in the division and are battling their way for a playoff spot in the MACJC State Tournament with only five doubleheaders left to play.
The Bulldogs are 16-17 overall and 6-8 in the North Division.
The Bulldogs have completed their season series with Mississippi Delta Community College and Northeast Mississippi Community College. Against Delta, the Bulldogs fell four times and split the four games with Northeast.
The Bulldogs took two games from East Mississippi and Coahoma and fell in their two games with Northwest. Holmes still has to play Itawamba twice in doubleheaders, at home on April 16 and at Itawamba in the last doubleheader of the regular season on April 27. Holmes will travel to East Mississippi on April 17 and will be home to both Northwest and Coahoma, on April 20 and April 23, respectively.
The top four seeds of each division will be invited to the MACJC State Tournament, which will be held at the South Division No. 1. Pearl River, Jones and East Central are all tied for first in the South Division.
