Rangers take two from the Bulldogs, 8-0 and 7-6

GOODMAN --- The Holmes Community College Bulldogs scored six runs in the bottom of the sixth and seventh in game two here Saturday but it wasn't enough as the Northwest Mississippi Community College Rangers took the doubleheader 8-0 and 7-6.

With the loss, the Bulldogs fell to 17-23 and 7-13 in the North Division. Holmes hosts Coahoma on Tuesday in a doubleheader starting at 3 p.m. The Bulldogs end the season on Saturday at Itawamba in a doubleheader at 3 p.m.

In game one, Carl Brice suffered the loss. Brice pitched 4 2/3 innings and fave up six runs on four hits walking four and struck out two. Jordan Taylor, Trey Goff and Tal Tucker each had a hit.

In game two, Steven Blanchard suffered the loss. He pitched 1 1/3 innings and gave up three runs on three hits walking one. Jaylan Bledsoe led the Bulldogs in hits with three including a double. Taylor, Cole McBride and Payden Lynch each had a hit.

On Wednesday in Scooba, the Bulldogs fell 5-1 and 9-1 to the Lions of East Mississippi.
