Baseball goes 3-1 on trip to Wallace-Selma, Ala.

SELMA, Ala. --- The Holmes Community College Bulldogs started the 2015 campaign off by going 3-1 here Friday and Saturday. Holmes went 2-1 versus Wallace and 1-0 versus Marion Military Institute.

Holmes returns to action on Friday and Saturday versus Southeastern Illinois College in doubleheaders both days started at 1 p.m.

In game one Friday, Holmes won 6-3. Cole Feazell picked up the win going 5 1/3 innings giving up three runs striking out six and walking none.  Rob Felton picked up the save in 1 2/3 innings of work. Geoffrey King and Kevin Barber each had two hits with Barber adding a double.

In game two Friday, Holmes won 6-4. Felton picked up the win in relief. He threw 3 2/3 innings struck out three and walking one and gave up two runs. Cody Greer started the game and went 3 1/3 innings and gave up two runs striking out one and walking one. Cojuante McMillian led the Bulldogs with three hits while Chad McNeil had two hits including a homerun. Maverick Keffer added a double.

In game one Saturday, Holmes fell to Wallace, 5-4. Tony Taylor suffered the loss. Taylor went 3 1/3 innings giving up two runs. Derrick Sylve started the game and gave up three runs with three strikeouts and two walks. Barber and McNeil each had two hits with both players having a double.

In game two Saturday, Holmes defeated Marion, 7-5 in nine innings. Michael Harrison picked up the win going 2 2/3 innings. Kris Brown went 6 1/3 innings and gave up five runs striking out and walking two. Keffer and McMillian each had two hits with Keffer adding a double. Feazell also added a double.
