GOODMAN --- The Holmes Community College Bulldogs went to 6-2 on the young season here Friday and Saturday with three out of four wins against Southeastern Illinois College.
Holmes hosts Mineral Area on Saturday, Feb. 21 in a 1 p.m. doubleheader.
In game one Friday, Cole Feazell picked up a complete game win going seven innings and only giving up one hit. He struck out five and walked none. Terrell Hodges led the Bulldogs with three hits while Cody Sartin, Cojuante McMillian and Geoffrey King each had two. King added a triple while Sartin had a double.
In game two Friday, Derrick Sylve picked up the win for the Bulldogs going five innings. He gave up two runs striking out six and walking two. Rob Felton picked up his second save going two innings and striking out two. Feazell added a double in the game.
In game one Saturday, Kris Brown picked up the win in four innings of work. He gave up two runs striking out three. Michael Harrison and Felton also saw action in the game. Sartin led the Bulldogs with three hits. Kevin Barber and Chad McNeil each had triples while Feazell added a double.
In game two Saturday, Felton suffered the loss in relief. Cody Greer started the game while Cody Shaw, Carr McMorris, Blake Keel, Tony Taylor and Harrison made appearances. Lucas Kirkland led the Bulldogs with three hits while McMillian had two. McNeil had a homerun while Kirkland doubled and tripled and McMillian, Tyler Hines and Hodges doubled.
