MOBILE, Ala. --- The Holmes Community College Bulldogs went to 8-4 overall with a four-game split here Friday and Saturday versus Bishop State Community College.
Holmes travels to Louisiana College JV on Thursday at 3/5 p.m. and then to Baton Rouge on Friday at 5 p.m. Holmes begins conference play on March 11 at Northwest at 3/6 p.m.
On Friday, the Bulldogs won game one, 4-3, and then fell 6-3 in game two. On Saturday, the Bulldogs won 11-4 in game one and fell 7-1 in game two.
In game one Friday, Cole Feazell moved to 3-0 on the season and went 6 2/3 innings and gave up three runs on five hits with nine strikeouts and four walks. Rob Felton picked up his third save of the season in 1/3 inning. Cojuante McMillian and Chad McNeil each led the Bulldogs with two hits including a double for each.
In game two Friday, Cody Greer suffered the loss and fell to 0-1 on the season. Greer went three innings and gave up two runs on two hits with four strikeouts and two walks. Derrick Sylve started the game while Felton and Tony Taylor also saw action from the mound. McNeil led the Bulldogs with three hits including a double. Jackson Jones also added a double for the Bulldogs.
In game one Saturday, Kris Brown picked up his second win of the season in five innings of work. He struck out three and walked one and gave up four runs on six hits. Cody Shaw threw two innings and gave up two hits and picked up one strikeout. Kevin Barber and Geoffrey King each led the Bulldogs with three hits with Barber having a triple. McNeil added a double.
In game two, Michael Harrison suffered the loss and fell to 1-1 on the season. Harrison went two innings and gave up four runs on three hits striking out two and walking three. Taylor, Blake Keel, Carr McMorris and Felton also saw action from the mound. Maverick Keffer led the Bulldogs with two hit including a double.
