GOODMAN --- The Holmes Community College Bulldogs went to 1-1 series record on the season here Friday versus the Southwest Mississippi Community College Bears with a 9-7 win.
With the win, the Bulldogs went to 10-8 on the season and 1-3 in MACJC Conference play.
Derrick Sylve picked up the win in relief and went to 2-1 on the season. Sylve went 2.1 innings and gave up two runs on three hits with three strikeouts and two walks while Rob Felton started the game and gave up five runs on three hits in 4.2 innings with seven strikeouts and five walks. Chad McNeil led the Bulldogs with three hits including a double while Cody Sartin and Carr McMorris each had two hits with each adding a double.
SCOOBA – The Holmes Community College Bulldogs fell twice here Tuesday to the East Mississippi Community College Lions, 10-4 and 3-2 in eight innings.
With the losses, the Bulldogs fell to 9-8 overall and 0-3 in MACJC Conference Play.
In game one, Cole Feazell suffered his first loss of the season. Feazell went two innings and gave up seven runs on six hits with one strikeout. Kris Brown went three innings and gave up three runs on five hits with two strikeouts and one walk while Tony Taylor went three innings and gave up one runs on three hits with two strikeouts and three walks. Carr McMorris led the Bulldogs with two hits while Maverick Keffer added a homerun.
In game two, Michael Harrison suffered the loss in relief for the Bulldogs and fell to 1-2 on the season. Derrick Sylve started the game and went seven innings and gave up two runs on four hits with eight strikeouts and eight walks. Harrison went 1/3 of an inning and gave up one run on hit with two walks. Cody Sartin had a double.
