GOODMAN --- The Holmes Community College Bulldogs used four homeruns here Saturday to pick up two MACJC Conference wins over Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, 7-4 and 8-5.
With the wins, the Bulldogs went to 13-11 and 4-6 in the conference. Holmes hosts Northeast on Tuesday for a 1 p.m. doubleheader. The games can be watched live at www.holmesccmedia.com.
In game one, Kris Brown started the game and went six innings. He gave up two runs on six hits with three strikeouts and four walks. Michael Harrison came in the game in the seventh and went two innings and picked up the win. He gave up one run on three hits with one strikeout and one walk. Cole Feazell pitched the ninth inning and gave up one run on one hit. Jackson Jones, Cody Sartin, Kevin Barber and Chad McNeil each had two hits with Sartin and Barber adding homeruns and Jones adding a double.
In game two, Cody Greer picked up the win going 1 2/3 innings. He gave up only one hit and one strikeout. Feazell started the game and went five innings giving up two runs on six hits with one strikeouts and two walks. Tony Taylor pitched 1/3 inning giving up three runs on two hits. Chad McNeil was the hero in game two as launched a three-run walk-off homerun in the bottom of the seventh to give the Bulldogs the win. He finished with four hits total. Sartin added three hits including a homerun and a double. Geoffery King had two hits.
