Bulldogs split with the Northeast Tigers

GOODMAN --- The Holmes Community College Bulldogs split two games here Tuesday with the Northeast Mississippi Community College Tigers. Northeast won game one, 16-5, and Holmes won game two, 5-4.

With the split, the Bulldogs went to 14-12 overall and 5-7 in the MACJC Conference. Holmes is at Hinds on Thursday. The game can be watched live at http://www.hindsccsports.net/Home starting at 3 p.m. Holmes hosts Coahoma on April 8 for a 1 p.m. doubleheader and Meridian on April 11 for a 1 p.m. doubleheader.

In game one, Cody Greer suffered the loss. He went 2 2/3 innings and gave up seven runs on three hits with three walks. Michael Harrison, Cody Shaw, Blake Keel and Carr McMorris also pitched for the Bulldogs. Kevin Barber led the Bulldogs with two hits while Chad McNeil added a homerun.

In game two, Derrick Sylve went the entire seven innings and gave up four runs on 10 hits with nine strikeouts and one walk. Geoffery King, Barber and McNeil each had two hits with McNeil adding a double. Terrell Hodges had a solo homerun in the game.
