Bulldogs and Eagles split two games Thursday

RAYMOND --- The Holmes Community College Bulldogs split two games here Thursday against No. 1 Hinds Community College. Hinds won game one, 15-1, before the Bulldogs took game two, 7-6.

With the split, Holmes went to 15-13 overall and 5-7 in the MACJC Conference. Holmes hosts Coahoma on Wednesday in a 1 p.m. doubleheader and then hosts Meridian in a 1 p.m. doubleheader Saturday.

In game one, Kris Brown suffered the loss and fell to 2-2 on the season. Brown went five innings and gave up six runs on nine hits with six strikeouts and three walks. Cody Shaw, Michael Harrison and Tony Taylor also pitched. Geoffery King, Tyler Hines and Jarvis Griffith each had two hits.

In game two, Cole Feazell picked up the win and went to 5-1 on the season. Feazell went seven innings and gave up six runs on eight hits with six strikeouts and one walk. Terrell Hodges and Chad McNeil each had three hits with Hodges adding a triple and a double. King, Kevin Barber and Griffith each had two hits with King, Barber and Griffith adding a double each.
