Bulldogs fall twice to Jones, 14-6 and 8-5

ELLISVILLE --- The Holmes Community College Bulldogs fell twice here on Wednesday to Jones County Junior College, 14-6 and 8-5.

With the losses, the Bulldogs fell to 17-17 on the season and 8-12 in the MACJC. Holmes will play Co-Lin on Monday at 3/6 p.m. in Goodman. They will then play at Itawamba on Wednesday at 3/6 p.m., at Pearl River on Saturday at 1/4 p.m. and at Northwest on Monday, April 27 at 2/5 p.m.

In game one, Tony Taylor suffered the loss in relief. He went 2 1/3 innings and gave up four runs on five hits with one strikeout. Cole Feazell started the game and went three innings and gave up four runs on eight hits with two walks. Cody Shaw, Cody Greer and Rob Felton also threw in the game. Cody Sartin led the Bulldogs with three hits including three doubles. Chad McNeil added a double.

In game two, Derrick Sylve suffered the loss. He went 5 1/3 innings and gave up eight runs on seven hits with six strikeouts and four walks. Michael Harrison threw 2/3 of an inning and gave up a hit and had one strikeout. McNeil led the Bulldogs with three hits including two doubles. Sartin and Tyler Hines each had two hits and Maverick Keffer added a triple.
