Holmes splits with Itawamba; winning 12-6 and falling 6-3

FULTON --- The Holmes Community College Bulldogs split two games here with Itawamba Community College Wednesday. Holmes won the first game, 12-6, and fell in game two, 6-3.

With the split, Holmes went to 21-19 overall and 12-14 in the MACJC Conference. Holmes is at Northwest on Monday to round out the regular season.

In game one, Cody Greer picked up the win and went to 2-4 overall. He went 6 1/3 innings and gave up four runs on 10 hits with four strikeouts and two walks. Rob Felton went the remaining 2 2/3 innings. Maverick Keffer had four hits including two doubles. Kevin Barber and Terrell Hodges each had three hits. Chad McNeil added a double.

In game two, Derrick Sylve suffered the loss in six innings of work. He gave up six runs on nine hits with four strikeouts and two walks. McNeil and Carr McMorris each had two hits with McNeil adding a double.
