Six Bulldogs receive postseason honors

GOODMAN --- Six Holmes Community College Bulldogs received postseason honors for their play this season from the MACJC and Region XXIII. The Bulldogs had one player on the All-State First Team and All-Region Team and five players on the All-State Second Team.

Chad McNeil, a sophomore infielder from LaPlace, La., was the only Bulldog named to the MACJC All-State First Team. He was also named to the All-Region XXIII Team. McNeil batted .433 for the year. He was 58-of-134 with eight HRs, 15 doubles and one triple. He had 49 RBI.

Derrick Sylve, a sophomore pitcher from Hammond, La., was named Second Team All-State. Sylve finished the year with a 6-3 record and a 3.96 ERA. He pitched 63 2/3 innings and gave up 39 runs on 59 hits with 51 Ks and 46 walks.

Cole Feazell, a sophomore pitcher from Elmer, La., was named Second Team All-State. Feazell finished the year with a 6-2 record and a 4.36 ERA. He pitched 66 innings and gave up 50 runs on 81 hits with 51 Ks and 16 walks.

Kris Brown, a sophomore pitcher from Pioneer, La., was named Second Team All-State. Brown finished the year with a 3-2 record and a 3.75 ERA. He pitched 62 1/3 innings and gave up 43 runs on 69 hits with 46 Ks and 18 walks.

Cody Sartin, a sophomore catcher from Magee, was named Second Team All-State. Sartin batted .336 for the year. He was 39-of-116 with three HRs and 10 doubles. He had 23 RBI.

Cojuante McMillian, a sophomore outfielder from Hamilton, was named Second Team All-State. McMillian was injured early in the season after appearing in only 12 games but was batting .444 at the time. He was 16-of-36 with two doubles. He also had 10 steals.
