Ulmer promoted to Advanced Rookie Ball in Ogden, Utah

Former Holmes Community College Bulldog Deion Ulmer of Laurel has been promoted to advanced rookie status and is now playing for the Ogden Raptors in Ogden, Utah.

Ulmer, who was drafted by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 26th round with the 789th overall pick, played for the Bulldogs in 2014. At Holmes, he finished his sophomore season batting .423 with one home run and 30 RBIs. He also stole 36 bases. He also pitched in 18 games and finished with a 7-1 record with a 2.27 ERA.

Last season in rookie ball, he played for the Arizona Dodgers, where he batted .237. He was 28-of-118 with six doubles. He also stole five bases.

Currently, he is batting .182 with two hits in 11 at bats.
