McNeil signs with the University of Arkansas-Monticello

Former Holmes Community College Bulldog Chad McNeil has signed a national letter of intent to play baseball for the Weevils of the University of Arkansas at Monticello in the Great American Conference next season.

McNeil of LaPlace, La. played shortstop for the Bulldogs last season. He was the only Bulldog named to the MACJC All-State First Team. He was also named to the All-Region XXIII Team. McNeil batted .433 for the year. He was 58-of-134 with eight HRs, 15 doubles and one triple. He had 49 RBI. He was also named a NJCAA Baseball Marucci Elite Hitter. The selection was based on the highest batting average in each district.

As a freshman, McNeil batted .341 (45-of-132) and finished with 27 runs scored, 32 RBI, 10 doubles, four homeruns and was named Second Team All-State.

Arkansas-Monticello finished 2015 with a record of 17-20 overall and 12-16 in the GAC.
