GOODMAN --- The Holmes Community College Bulldogs and the Hinds Community College Eagles split two games here Saturday. Holmes won game one, 13-7 and Hinds won game two, 8-6.
With the split the Bulldogs moved to 17-15 overall and 8-8 in the MACJC.
In game one, Scott Shearer picked up the win in 8 2/3 innings. He gave up seven runs on 10 hits with six strikeouts and five walks. Justin Hutton came in for the final 1/3 of an inning. Sloan Dieter and Jarvis Griffith each had three hits with Dieter having a homerun and Griffith having a double. Tyrance Carr, Christian Smith and Corbin Jamison each had two hits.
In game two, Shelby Craddock got the start and went 5 2/3 innings. He gave up six runs on seven hits with four strikeouts and one walk. Michael Harrison went 1/3 of an inning and suffered the loss. Cody Greer and Chase Allen also pitched in the game. Griffith led the Bulldogs with two hits.
