Bulldogs take two from Coahoma; stay in playoff hunt

CLARKSDALE --- The Holmes Community College Bulldogs swept the Coahoma Community College Tigers here Wednesday winning game one, 6-4 and game two, 5-2.

With the wins, the Bulldogs went to 18-16 overall and 9-9 in the MACJC. Holmes travels to Meridian on Saturday. They then host the Jones on April 19 at 2/5 p.m. on Tuesday.

In game one, Cody Greer got the start and went one inning. He gave up three runs on three hits with one strikeout and one walk. Michael Harrison then came in and pitched the remaining eight innings and got the win. He gave up one run on eight hits with seven strikeouts. Geoffery King led the Bulldogs with two hits including a double.

In game two, Sloan Dieter went the entire seven innings and picked up the win. He gave up two runs on three hits with five strikeouts and five walks. Jaylan Baker and Jarvis Griffith each had two hits.
