Bulldogs split with Wolves, winning 7-6 and falling 5-4

WESSON --- The Holmes Community College Bulldogs continued their push for the postseason here Saturday with a split with Copiah-Lincoln Community College winning game one, 7-6, and falling in game two, 5-4.

With the split, the Bulldogs went to 20-20 overall and 11-13 overall. Holmes hosts Itawamba on Tuesday and Pearl River on Saturday at 2/5 p.m.

In game one, Scott Shearer got the start and went three innings and gave up six runs on six hits with five strikeouts and two walks. Michael Harrison came in the game and went five innings and picked up the win. He gave up one hit with four strikeouts and one walk. Justin Hutton got the save in one inning of work. He had one strikeout and one walk. Luke Lambert and Tyler Hines each had a double.

In game two, Shelby Craddock went 4 2/3 innings and suffered the loss. Craddock gave up five runs on seven hits with three walks and two strikeouts. Chase Allen went 1 1/3 innings and gave up one hit with two strikeouts and two walks. Dylan Creel led the Bulldogs with two hits while Sloan Dieter added a double.
