Bulldogs lose four games to Bishop State

MOBILE, Ala. --- The Holmes Community College Bulldogs fell to Bishop State Community College here Friday and Saturday in four games. On Friday, the Bulldogs lost 5-4 and 6-5 and on Saturday, the Bulldogs fell 12-4 and 8-7.

With the losses, the Bulldogs fell to 4-8 on the season. Holmes was scheduled to play LSU-Alexandria Wednesday but the game has been cancelled due to the rain. Holmes will play at Louisiana College on Monday, March 6.

In game one Friday, Sloan Dieter suffered the loss in 2/3 of an inning. He gave up two runs on one hit with one strikeout. Chase Allen went the remaining 5 1/3 innings and gave up three runs on five hits with one strikeout and two walks. Will Jordan and Brodie Threet each had a double.

In game two Friday, Scott Shearer went six innings and gave up six runs on 11 hits with six strikeouts. Kyle Singleton added a double.

In game one Saturday, Landry Newsom suffered the loss. He gave up seven runs on three hits with two walks. Nick Lawrence, Logan Bell, Justin Hutton and Brodie Threet also pitched. Lawrence went 1/3 of an inning, Hutton went 4 2/3 innings and Threet went one inning. Josh Tucker and Tyrance Carr each had two hits.

In game two Saturday, Jeff Crenshaw went five innings. He gave up five runs on four hits with eight strikeouts and one walk. Peyton Sullivan went one inning and gave up three runs on three hits with a strikeout and a walk. Tucker led with three hits while Jordan had two.
