Bulldogs fall twice to Eagles

RAYMOND --- The Holmes Community College Bulldogs fell twice here Saturday to the Eagles of Hinds Community College. Holmes fell 14-8 in the first game and 14-6 in game two.

With the losses, the Bulldogs fell to 11-21 overall and 2-12 in the MACJC. Holmes travels to Delta on Tuesday at 1/4 p.m. and then host Meridian at 1/4 p.m. on Friday.

In game one, Chase Allen went two innings and gave up five runs on six hits with one walk. Peyton Sullivan went four innings and gave up two hits with two walks and one strikeout while Jeb Malley went 1 1/3 innings and gave up nine runs on five hits with one walk and Landry Newsom went 2/3 of an inning.

Brodie Threet, Keelyn Johnson, Josh Tucker and Kyle Singleton each had two hits. Tucker had two doubles while Singleton and Johnson each had one while Threet added a two-run homerun.

In game two, Nick Lawrence went 3 2/3 innings and gave up seven runs on eight hits with four walks and two strikeouts while Jeff Crenshaw went 2 1/3 innings and gave up seven runs on four hits with two strikeouts and two walks. Zack Boone added a homerun.
