Bulldog baseball opens the season on Feb. 17

The 2018 Holmes Community College baseball team has three returning players to this year's squad.

Returners include: Sage Mullins, outfielder, Oxford; Josh Tucker, outfielder, Clinton; and Jeff Crenshaw, pitcher, Slidell, La. Sophomore transfers are Michael Brown, catcher, Clinton; Brandon Renfrow, pitcher, Meridian; and J.D. Roberts, outfielder, Meridian. Brown transferred from Millsaps, Renfrow from Meridian and Roberts from Montevallo.

Mullins batted .303 during the 2017 season which included 19 runs scored, 31 hits, four doubles, one triple, one homerun and 18 RBI. Tucker batted .244 but had four doubles, one triple and two homeruns with 22 RBI.

Newcomers include: Brooks Cooper, infielder, Brandon; Paul Green, outfielder, Winona; Cole Johnson, infielder, Denham Springs, La.; Anthony Fidanza, pitcher/outfielder/infielder, Zachary, La.; Kameron Ferguson, pitcher, Philadelphia; Xavier Martin, outfielder, Oxford; Chris Piernas, pitcher, Pass Christian; Jimmy Burse, infielder, Jackson; Matt Warren, infielder/catcher/pitcher, Brandon; Kendrick Lejeune, infielder/pitcher, Iota, La.; Morgan Jarabica, pitcher, Vicksburg; Dane Bevell, pitcher/infielder, Grenada; Alex Burt, Pitcher, Hattiesburg; Steven Lacey, pitcher, Canton; Will Roberts, infielder/outfielder, Meridian; Colby Ellingburg, catcher/pitcher, Philadelphia; and R.J. Pierce, pitcher, Noxapater.

Kenny Dupont returns as head coach of the Bulldogs.

Holmes opens the season on Saturday, Feb. 17 vs. Elaine P. Nunez at 1/4 p.m.
