Bulldogs fall to Trojans, 15-13 and 6-3

GOODMAN --- The Holmes Community College Bulldogs lost two heartbreakers here Tuesday to the Mississippi Delta Community College Trojans, 15-13 in 11 innings and 6-3.

With the losses, the Bulldogs fell to 17-15 overall and 3-13 in the MACJC. Holmes travels to Meridian on Saturday.

In game one, Kameron Ferguson took the loss. He went 2/3 of an inning and gave up three runs on three hits with one walk. Morgan Jarabica got the start and went 4 1/3 innings and gave up five runs on eight hits with two strikeouts and one walk while Matt Warren went six innings and gave up seven runs on eight hits with one strikeout and five walks. Sage Mullins led the Bulldogs with three hits while Warren had two. Josh Tucker added a double.

In game two, Jeff Crenshaw suffered the loss. He went 6 2/3 innings and gave up six runs on seven hits with six strikeouts and six walks. Colby Ellingburg went 1/3 of an inning with one strikeout. J.D. Roberts led the Bulldogs with three hits while Warren had two.

In two games Sunday versus Hinds, the Bulldogs fell 14-3 in game one and won 5-4 in game two.

In game one, Alex Burt suffered the loss. He went 3 1/3 innings and gave up five runs on five hits with three strikeouts and one walk. Morgan Jarabica and Chris Piernas each went 2/3 of an inning while Dane Bevell went 1/3 of an inning. Bevell gave up six runs on five hits while Piernas gave up three runs on four hits. Cole Johnson and Warren each had two hits.

In game two, Anthony Fidanza picked up the win. He went 5 1/3 innings and gave up two runs on seven hits with four strikeouts and two walks. Steve Lacey went 1 1/3 innings and gave up two runs on three hits with two strikeouts and one walk. J.D. Roberts had three hits while Mullins and Warren each had two with Warren adding a double.
