Cheer tryouts are set for April 9 on the Goodman Campus

Tryouts for the 2015-16 Holmes Community College Cheerleading Squad is set for Thursday, April 9, at 3:30 in the Frank B. Branch Coliseum on the Goodman Campus.

Cheerleaders are asked to arrive at 3 p.m. for registration and warm up time and also to go over material for the tryout. You must wear a white tank top or short with black shorts and bring a filled out application and a current physical.

Anyone interested in trying out for the squad can attend open gym/practice times on March 16, March 23, March 30 and April 6 from 3-5:30 p.m. in the Cheer Gym located in the M.R. Thorne Vocational-Technical Building on the Goodman Campus.

There is no fee for the cheer clinics. Both female and male cheerleaders will be on-hand to stunt, work on technique and answer any questions.  You can also use the time to tour the Goodman Campus and work on any material required for the tryout on April 9.

All potential student athletes should be accepted to Holmes Community College, be physically fit, and have completed the application for tryouts. Females trying out should be familiar with the Holmes Community College chant and fight song and also be able to do a toe touch and coed stunts. Males trying out should be familiar with coed stunts and shoulder stands. Tumbling is not required but highly encouraged for both males and females.
