Also recognized were Athletic Director Hugh Shurden and Head Softball Coach Ricky Casey. Shurden is retiring for Holmes, and Casey picked up his 100th win since becoming head coach at Holmes.

The Cheerleaders served as greeters at the President’s reception, tour guides around campus, and served the banquet meal.
May 30, 2013 Cheerleaders do their part with Breast Cancer Awareness The Holmes Community College Cheerleading Squad and Bully mascots joined the efforts of the Bulldog Basketball Teams to raise awareness for Breast Cancer Research. The squad along with other athletics teams raised money by hosting a “Womanless Beauty Pageant,” selling pink t-shirts and through donations. May 30, 2013 Cheerleaders win the 2013 Relay Rally for the American Cancer Society The Holmes Community College Cheerleaders participated in the Annual PTK Relay Rally on the Goodman Campus. The squad won the overall trophy which was determined by the “relay races” the team won, tent decorations, and money raised. This squad raised $200 for the American Cancer Society to add to the campus total of $1500.

May 30, 2013 Seven cheerleaders named to Phi Theta Kappa Congratulations to seven cheerleaders for recently being inducted into Phi Theta Kappa. Phi Theta Kappa is the honor society for the two year community colleges in the U.S. and the world. The Bulldog Cheerleaders had a 3.12 semester GPA for the Fall, a 3.06 semester GPA for the Spring, and a 3.08 Overall GPA to end the year.
