The Holmes Community College Bulldogs racked up over 500 yards of offense for the second week in a row, but it wasn’t enough as the East Mississippi Community College Lions outraced the Bulldogs for a 56-35 win here Thursday night.

SENATOBIA --- Twelve hundred yards of offense between both the Holmes Community College Bulldogs and the Northwest Mississippi Community College Rangers resulted in 107 points between the two, and a 66-41 Ranger win in the North Division contest here Saturday.

GOODMAN — The Holmes Community College Bulldogs scored a touchdown on the ground, in the air and on the defensive side of the ball, but it wasn’t enough as the Jones County Junior College defeated the Bulldogs, 35-20, in the non-division contest.

BOONEVILLE — The Holmes Community College Bulldogs had chances to put some points on the scoreboard but came up empty as the No. 19- ranked Northeast Mississippi Community College Tigers won the game 21-0, knocking the Bulldogs to 1-1 in the North Division.

A Nolan Genovese to Jamel Johnson 42-yard touchdown pass and later two-point conversion pass to Ledrick Patterson with seven seconds to go gave the Holmes Community College Bulldogs the 15-14 win over the Coahoma Community College Tigers.

F.A.S.T. program shows immediate results
Fifty-seven Holmes Community College football players held a team 2.93 GPA during the second term of summer school on the Goodman Campus. Thirty-two achieved a 3.0 or higher GPA.

Bulldogs change uniforms for 2011-12

Koets joins Bulldog coaching staff
The Holmes Community College Board of Trustees named Mo. native Kyle Koets as an assistant football coach at Holmes Community College. Koets will serve as offensive line coach and will also be the recruiting coordinator.

McCarty named offensive coordinator
The Holmes Community College Board of Trustees Thursday approved the hiring of Oregon native Mike McCarty as Offensive Coordinator for the Holmes Community College Bulldog football team. McCarty joins Holmes football staff from Bryant University in Rhode Island where he was the Offensive Coordinator and quarterbacks coach.
