Holmes CC raises $8,000 for the Wounded Warrior Project

On Oct. 25, 2012, Holmes Community College held its first Armed Forces Appreciation Game with Coahoma Community College, where members of the military, both past and present were honored and recognized.

The Bulldog football team wore camouflage jerseys that were sold to assist in raising funds for the Wounded Warrior Project. Other fundraising efforts included district-wide raffles, bake sale and a Kiss the Pig contest. After all monies were collected and totalled, Holmes raised $8,000 for the Wounded Warrior Project.

On Monday night, Feb. 18, Bulldog freshman defensive back Kris Givens presented a check to Holmes President Dr. Glenn F. Boyce in the amount of $8,000 to be donated to the Wounded Warrior Project. Members of the football team and coaching staff joined Givens in this presentation.

Bulldog Head Coach Jeff Koonz said several jerseys are still available for purchase. For more information, please contact Coach Koonz at 662-472-9047 or jkoonz@holmescc.edu.
