BOONEVILLE --- The Holmes Community College Bulldogs jumped on the Northeast Mississippi Community College Tigers early here Thursday night and cruised to a 41-21 North Division win.

Holmes got on the scoreboard in the first quarter when sophomore running back Matt Fuller broke free from 46 yards. Caleb Shelly's extra point was good, and Holmes led 7-0 with 6:54 left in the first quarter.
The Bulldogs added another touchdown in the second quarter when sophomore quarterback Dejerric Bryant connected with Fuller on a 10 yard touchdown pass. Shelly's PAT was good, and Holmes led 14-0 with 13:32 left in the second.
Northeast got on the scoreboard in the second quarter less than a minute later when they broke free on a touchdown run. The extra point was good, and Holmes led 14-7 with 12:33 left before halftime.
Holmes added another touchdown before halftime when freshman running back Cameryn Brent bullied his way in from 18 yards out with 9 minutes left before halftime. Shelly's PAT was good, and Holmes went into halftime leading 21-7.
The Bulldogs came out early in the third quarter and continued to put points on board as sophomore defensive back Sean Harper intercepted a pass and raced down the home sidelines for a 50-yard interception return for a touchdown. Shelly's PAT was no good, and Holmes led 27-7 with 11:43 left in the third.
Holmes scored early in the fourth quarter when Bryant connected with sophomore wide receiver D.J. Montgomery from 24 yards out. Shelly's PAT put Holmes up 34-7 with 13:46 left in the game.
The Tigers scored with 7:46 left in the game on a touchdown run. The extra point was good, and Holmes still led 34-14.
Holmes' Fuller added one more score for the Bulldogs when he raced in from 22 yards out with 5:13 left in the game.
Northeast added one more score with 2:56 left on a touchdown pass. The PAT was good, and Holmes led 41-21.
The Bulldogs, the NJCAA's number two rushing team, racked up 300 rushing yards in the contest and added another 174 in the air.
Fuller led the Bulldogs in rushing with 17 carries for 115 yards and two touchdowns. Brent had 19 carries for 80 yards and a score while Bryant had 10 carries for 70 yards. Bryant was 10-of-15 for 174 yards and two touchdowns. Montgomery had three catches for 50 yards and a touchdown. P.J. Simmons had three catches for 50 yards and Reggie Carter had two catches for 47 yards.
