Bulldogs fall to East Miss.; go to 4-2 overall and 2-2 in the North

SCOOBA --- The No. 15 Holmes Community College Bulldogs fell to 4-2 overall and 2-2 in the North Division after falling 49-3 to No. 1 East Mississippi Community College here Thursday night.

The Bulldogs will be on the road next Thursday night in Wesson to take on Copiah-Lincoln Community College at 7 p.m. You can listen on the Bulldog Radio Network (101.1 FM, 103.9 FM or 100.1 FM) or online at breezynews.com.

The Lions took an early 7-0 lead in the first quarter on a one-yard touchdown run. The extra point was good.

East then went up 14-0 in the first with 5:01 left on a 22-yard touchdown pass. The extra point was again good.

The Bulldogs scored their only points of the game when Connor McKay kicked a 26-yard field goal with 2:18 to play in the first.

East scored four times in the third and once in the fourth. Three touchdown passes from 41 yards, 31 yards and 57 yards and a run of five yards with extra points netted 28 third quarter points.

The Lions added a score in the fourth on another 31 yard pass. The extra point was good ending all scoring in the contest.

Cameryn Brent was held to 65 yards on 15 carries in the game. Lorenzo McCaskill had 11 tackles in the game including one sack and one tackle for loss. Quindarrius Whitley had eight tackles while Brent Price had seven and Vada King finished with six.
