Bulldogs hold awards banquet

The Holmes Community football team held its annual banquet tonight in the Dr. Sam Massey Auditorium located in the Science and Mathematics Building on the Goodman Campus.

Quindarrius Whitley received the Milton Lee Olive Courage and Character Award. Josh Dodd received the Ras Branch Award and Jawaski Webb, Trey Freeman, Rodney Shaw, Jarius Gooch, Chris Dye and Maurice Mosley received the Colonel Bradly MacNealy Leadership Award.

Sixteen members of the team were recognized by the MACJC recently. Those receiving honors included: Cameryn Brent, First Team All-State; Jawaski Webb, Kavonte Younger, Caleb Roebuck, Brylon Fowler, Jaderrius Hooks, Lorenzo McCaskill and Quindarrius Whitley, Second Team All-State; and Rodney Shaw, Jarius Gooch, Beau Johnson, Connor McKay, Jesse Wilson, Vada King, Brent Price and Sanchez Berry, Honorable Mention All-State.

Brent received the Big Play Chain given to the player with the largest number of big plays during the season. He also received a plaque recognizing his leading the NJCAA during the regular season in total rushing yards and yards per game.

Holmes Head Coach Jeff Koonz presented Offensive Coordinator Tim Stowers a plaque recognizing the Bulldog offense for leading the NJCAA in total rushing yards, yards per game and yards per carry.

The team capped the night off with season recap video produced by Multimedia/Web Specialist Barin von Foregger with video from von Foregger, Associate Athletic Director for External Relations Steve Diffey and multimedia student workers Jesse Qualls and Matt Wolak.
