Seven Bulldogs honored by the MACJC, Region XXIII
Seven Holmes Community College Bulldogs received post-season honors from the MACJC and NJCAA after the Bulldogs finished 5-4 overall and 4-2 in the North Division. Wide receiver Jonathan Rumph, offensive lineman Jamarcus Robinson and return specialist Jacorie Ousley took top honors by being named First Team All-State, and Rumph was named First Team All-Region XXIII.

Bulldog coaching staff receives MACJC Coach of the Year award
The Holmes Community College Bulldog football team took a 2-4 North Division record in 2011 and flipped it in 2012 finishing with a 4-2 North Division record and 5-4 overall. Football coaches in the Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges took notice of this turnaround recognizing Holmes Community College Head Football Coach Jeff Koonz with the MACJC Coach of the Year Award.

ELLISVILLE – After the Holmes Community College Bulldogs led the entire game, the Jones County Junior College Bobcats mounted a scoring drive in the last two minutes of the game and with 10.8 seconds left, Bobcat kicker Grant McLaurin booted a 32-yard field goal to give Jones the 10-8 victory.

McCarty named offensive coordinator
The Holmes Community College Board of Trustees Thursday approved the hiring of Oregon native Mike McCarty as Offensive Coordinator for the Holmes Community College Bulldog football team. McCarty joins Holmes football staff from Bryant University in Rhode Island where he was the Offensive Coordinator and quarterbacks coach.
