Bulldogs blow out Northeast Tigers, 75-50

BOONEVILLE --- The Holmes Community College Bulldogs pulled even in the North Division at 1-1 with a convincing 74-50 win over the Northeast Mississippi Community College Tigers here Monday night.

With the win, the Bulldogs moved to 7-3 overall and will take a break until Jan. 9 when they travel to Hinds Community College in Utica.

Northeast jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the game and held a lead until the 7:52 mark of the first half when the game was tied at 17. Demarcus Lewis got a easy layup to put the Bulldogs up 19-17 with 7:22 left in the half. Later in the half, Torrance Rowe had back-to-back buckets to put the Bulldogs up 33-22 with 3:10 to play. The Bulldogs led 37-26 at the half.

The Bulldogs increased the lead to 49-30 with 15 minutes to play and 20 points with a Lewis slam with 12 minutes to play. The lead was 23 with four minutes to play in the game.

Lewis led the Bulldogs with 25 points while Torrance Rowe had 17 and Deangelo Priar had 15.
