Bulldogs finish season sweep of Indians, 77-73
FULTON --- The Holmes Community College Bulldogs finished the 2011-12 regular season here Thursday night with a 77-73 win over the Itawamaba Community College Indians.
With the win, the Bulldogs went to 16-7 overall and 8-4 in the North Division. The Bulldogs will be the North Division No. 2 seed in the MACJC State Tournament next week in Fulton. The Bulldogs will play the Hinds Community College Bulldogs, the South Division No. 3 seed, on Monday at 8 p.m. Holmes defeated Hinds, 66-63 in Utica, and 74-61 in Goodman during the season.
Torrance Rowe led the Bulldogs with 27 points while Deangelo Priar had 23. Rowe and Demarcus Lewis each had five rebounds. Rowe hit key free throws down the stretch to help the Bulldogs pull out the win.
