  • Training Camp for USA Basketball has begun; Flanigan is one of the court coaches

    COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado (July 6, 2015) – Featuring 16 current collegians, four players who most recently played professional basketball overseas, and one player who played in the NBA in 2014-15, 21 players are expected for the 2015 U.S. Pan American Men’s Basketball Team training camp that opens July 7. The training camp, being held July 7-12 at the United States Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado, will be used to select the 12 players who will represent the United States at the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto, Canada.

    CLINTON --- The Holmes Community College Bulldogs jumped out early on the Pearl River Community College Wildcats and led for 39 minutes before the Wildcats were able to tie the game at 72 with one minute left in regulation and again at 74 with 44 seconds to force the game into overtime. Holmes then outscored the Wildcats 18-13 in overtime to pull out the first Region XXIII title ever for the men’s basketball team at Holmes Community College.

    GOODMAN --- Third time will be the charm for either the Holmes Community College Bulldogs or the Northeast Mississippi Community College Tigers Wednesday afternoon in the semi-finals of the MACJC State Tournament at Copiah-Lincoln Community College as the teams look to break a tie of two regular season tilts. Northeast won 55-54 in Booneville on Jan. 26, and the Bulldogs knocked off the Tigers, 61-57, in Goodman on Feb. 19.
