Bulldogs start division second half with a 77-74 win over Northwest

SENATOBIA --- Sophomore guard Torlorf Thomas hit two key free throws with six seconds to play to lift the Holmes Community College Bulldogs to a 77-74 win over the Northwest Mississippi Community College Rangers here Thursday night.

The Bulldogs took a 75-72 lead with 27 seconds to play on a layup from Cedric Harper. Mark Partee of Northwest then hit two free throws to bring the Rangers within one point, 75-74, with 15 seconds to play before Thomas hit his two free throws to seal the win.

The Bulldogs went to 13-5 and 6-1 in the division. Holmes hosts Coahoma on Monday night at 8 p.m. and Itawamba at  8 p.m. on Thursday. The games can be watched live at holmesccmedia.com.

The game was tied at 45 at halftime. Daryl Macon led the Bulldogs with 19 points while Thomas had 11 and Harper had 10.
