Bulldogs get hard fought win over Tigers, 68-65

GOODMAN --- Freshman guard Jamahl Jackson hit one of two free throws with 5.9 left in the game, and freshman forward Cedric Harper got a huge block of a three-point shot as time expired to seal a 68-65 win for the Holmes Community College Bulldogs over the Coahoma Community College Tigers here Monday night.

With the win, the Bulldogs went to 14-5 overall and 7-1 in the division. Holmes hosts Itawamba on Thursday night at 8 p.m. The game can be watched live at holmesccmedia.com.

Coahoma hit a late three-pointer as time expired in the first half to give the Tigers a 37-36 lead. The Bulldogs then outscored the Tigers, 32-38, in the second half to pull out the win.

Daryl Macon led the Bulldogs with 22 points while Marcus Washington added 17 and Dietrich Taylor had 12. Washington had 12 rebounds and Taylor had six.
