Macon named MACJC Player of the Week

Holmes Community College freshman guard Daryl Macon has been named the MACJC Men's Basketball Player of the Week for his play last week making this his third time to receive the honor.

Macon from Little Rock, Ark. scored 31 points in Thursday's win over Mississippi Delta. He was 13-of-21 from the floor including 5-of-10 from the three-point line. He also had four rebounds and one steal. He's third in the NJCAA in scoring with 23.9 points per game.

He followed Thursday's game with 21 points in the Bulldogs' 74-64 win over East Mississippi Monday night in Scooba giving Holmes the North Division Championship. Macon was 7-of-17 from the floor and he was six-of-six from the free throw line.

Holmes plays Northeast tomorrow night in the regular season finale at 8 p.m. You can watch the game live at Holmes then moves to the MACJC State Tournament at Copiah-Lincoln on Tuesday. Holmes will play the South Division No. 4 seed which will either be Co-Lin or Gulf Coast. Follow to full tournament information.
