Three Bulldogs receive postseason honors from the MACJC and Region XXIII

Three members of the Holmes Community College Bulldogs recently received honors from the MACJC and the NJCAA Region XXIII.

Daryl Macon of Little Rock, Ark. and Marcus Washington of Clinton were recently named First Team All-State by the MACJC with Macon also receiving the Region XXIII Player of the Year honors.

Washington and Jarvis Williams of Jackson have been selected to play in the April 10 MACJC All-Star Game at East Central Community College.

On the season so far, Macon averaged 22.9 points per game. He shot 47.8 percent from the floor, 38.9 percent from the three-point line and 87.9 percent from the free throw line. He pulled in 3.8 rebounds and had three assists and 1.2 steals per game. Washington averaged 10 points per game. He shot 46.5 percent from the floor and 62.9 percent from the free throw line. He pulled in 5.1 rebounds per game and had 1.8 assists and 1.2 steals per game. Williams averaged 6.6 points per game. He shot 50 percent from the floor, 36.3 percent from the three-point line and 78.6 from the free throw line. He pulled in 1.8 rebounds per game and had three assists and one steal per game.

The Bulldogs will be participating in the 2015 NJCAA National Tournament in Hutchinson, Kansas March 16-21.
