Bulldogs defeat Bears, 77-65

BATON ROUGE --- The Holmes Community College Bulldogs went to double figure wins with a 77-65 win over Baton Rouge Community College here Thursday afternoon.

With the win, the Bulldogs went to 10-4 overall. Holmes travels to Mississippi Delta on Tuesday night at 8 p.m. They then travel to East Mississippi on Thursday night at 7:30 p.m.

Holmes led 31-29 at halftime and outscored Baton Rouge 46-36 in the second half.

Jamahl Jackson and D'Angelo Richardson combined for 10 three-pointers in the game with Jackson hitting six of those. Richardson had 25 points while Jackson had 22 and Xavier Williams had 14. Jackson and Williams each had five rebounds.

Holmes shot 51.2 percent from the floor, 55 percent from the three-point line and 72.7 percent from the free throw line while Baton Rouge shot 36.7 percent from the floor, 33.3 percent from the three-point line and 65 percent from the free throw line.
