Bulldogs suffer heartbreaker to Indians, 75-70

FULTON --- Despite shooting 51 percent from the floor in the game, the Holmes Community College Bulldogs suffered a heartbreaking 75-70 to the Itawamba Community College Indians here Thursday night.

With the loss, the Bulldogs fell to 15-5 and 6-3 in the North Division. The Bulldogs host Mississippi Delta on Thursday night at 8 p.m. and then host East Mississippi on Feb. 15 at 8 p.m. and end the regular season on Feb. 18 at Northeast at 7:30 p.m. The Bulldogs are in a three-way tie for first place going into next week's play.

Holmes led Itawamba, 33-28, at halftime and then the Indians outscored the Bulldogs 47-37 in the second half. The Indians led by 15, 63-48, in the second half.

Daryl Macon led the Bulldogs in scoring with 22 points while D'Angelo Richardson and Xavier Williams each had 14 and Cedric Harper had 11. Harper had 10 rebounds in the game.
