GOODMAN --- Holmes Community College freshman guard Trevais Spencer hit a three-pointer with 5.4 seconds remaining to lift the Bulldogs, 83-82, over Hinds Community College here Thursday night.
With the win, the Bulldogs went to 2-2 on the season. Holmes travels to Southern University at Shreveport on Saturday at 4 p.m. The game can be heard on 101.1 FM or breeznews.com.
Holmes led 36-35 at halftime before each team scored 47 in the second half.
Mikkel Norment, Keith Gilmore and Justin Johnson each had 20 points in the game while Spencer added 12 including four three-pointers. Norment added four three-pointers as well. Gilmore led the Bulldogs with 10 rebounds.
For the game, Holmes shot 54.7 percent from the floor, 58.8 percent from the three-point line and 75 percent from the free-throw line. Holmes outrebounded Hinds, 33-24 in the contest. Each team had 10 three-pointers in the game.
