Bulldogs go to 5-4 with 85-83 win over Southwest Tenn.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. --- The Holmes Community College finished the Fall Semester with a 5-4 record after picking up a win here Tuesday over the Southwest Tennessee Community College Saluqis, 85-83.

Holmes will play Hinds on Jan. 5 at 8 p.m. and will play Southern University-Shreveport on Jan. 7 at 4 p.m. in Goodman.

Southwest Tenn. led 41-38 at halftime before the Bulldogs outscored the Saluqis 47-42 in the second half to pull out the win. Trevais Spencer and Marquis Orange hit one of two free throws each in the final 20 seconds to pull out the win.

Justin Johnson led the Bulldogs with 22 points while Spencer had 17 and Mikkel Norment had 11. Orange and Johnson each had six rebounds.

On Dec. 9, the Bulldogs picked up a 106-67 win over William Carey University JV in Goodman.

Norment led the Bulldogs with 28 points while D'Michael Stribling had 15 and Stanley Williams had 12. Keith Gilmore led the Bulldogs with 10 rebounds.
