Bulldogs move to the top of the North Division with win at ICC

FULTON --- The Holmes Community College Bulldogs went to first place in the North Division here Thursday night with a 76-69 win over the Indians of Itawamba Community College.

With the win, the Bulldogs improved to 11-7 overall and 5-2 in the North. Holmes hosts Mississippi Delta on Monday night at 8 p.m. The Bulldogs then host Northwest on Thursday night at 8 p.m. Both are key North Division contests and can be watched live at holmesccmedia.com.

Holmes led 39-31 in the first half but were outscored 38-37 in the second half but hung on for the win. Holmes' largest lead happened in the second half when the Bulldogs led 42-31.

Holmes shot 52 percent from the floor, 50 percent from the three-point line and 62.5 percent from the free-throw line. Mikkel Norment led the Bulldogs in scoring with 16 points while Trevais Spencer had 13 and Justin Johnson had 11. Marquell Carter led in rebounds with nine while D'Michael Stribling had seven.
