GOODMAN --- The Holmes Community College Bulldogs poured it on in the second half to pull away from the Northwest Mississippi Community College Rangers and win 80-66 in the key North Division contest here Thursday night.
With the win, the Bulldogs went to 13-7 overall and 7-2 in the North Division. Holmes travels to Northeast Mississippi Community College on Monday at 7:30 p.m.
Northwest held a 41-40 advantage at halftime before Holmes outscored them 40-25 in the second half.
The Bulldogs shot 50.7 percent from the floor and 33.3 percent from the three-point line. Mikkel Norment led the Bulldogs with 23 points while Keith Gilmore had 13 and Marquell Carter had 10. Keyante Newell and Trevais Spencer each had seven rebounds.
