Bulldogs improve to 6-1 with 66-43 win over Baton Rouge Bears

BATON ROUGE, La. --- The No. 25 Holmes Community College Bulldogs finished up their final non-division game before division play begins Monday at Itawamba here Thursday night with a 66-43 win over the Baton Rouge Community College Bears.

With the win, the Bulldogs went to 6-1 on the season. Holmes travels to Itawamba on Monday night at 8 p.m. to open North Division play. The team will then not play again until Jan. 6 when they travel to Delgado Community College in New Orleans.

Holmes led 32-20 at halftime and then outscored the Bears 34-23 in the second half to secure the win.

Trevais Spencer led the Bulldogs with 19 points while Javon Franklin had 12. Franklin had 12 rebounds in the game.

Holmes shot 44.4 percent from the floor (24-of-54) in the game.
