Norment named MVP of Men's All-Star Game

DECATUR --- Holmes Community College sophomore guard Mikkel Norment scored 30 points here at East Central Community College Friday to help lead the North Division MACJC All-Stars to a 109-108 OT win over the South Division All-Stars in the 2018 MACJC Men's All-Star Basketball Game.

Norment was named the game's MVP. He was 10-of-22 from the floor, 2-of-8 from the three-point line and 8-of-12 from the free throw line. He also had nine rebounds and four assists.

Fellow teammates Justin Johnson and Joshua Everette also saw action in the game. Johnson finished with 17 points and had seven rebounds, two steals and five assists. Everette had two rebounds in the game.

The South led 56-53 at halftime, and the North outscored the South 52-49 in the second half to tie the game at regulation on a bucket from Norment. The North outscored the South, 4-3, in the overtime period.
