RIDGELAND --- The North and South Divisions battled to a 2-2 tie here Saturday in the MACJC All-Star Game at Freedom Ridge Park.
Holmes Community College's David Born and Copiah-Lincoln Community College's Baba Mediateur were named Most Valuable Players.
Hinds Community College's Sessums Means put the first goal in for the North Division, and the North led 1-0 at halftime.
Meridian's Donja Smith tied the match for the South in the second half before Copiah-Lincoln's Tony Rodriquez put the South on top until one minute to play before Holmes' Born tied the match at two.
North Men All-Stars included: Bryant Young, Northwest; David Raymundo, Northwest; Cody Kirtley, Holmes; Sess Means, Hinds; Austin Scott, Holmes; Patrick Ross, Hinds; B.J. Sanders, Hinds; Blake Bonds, East Central; Wanner Paiz, Hinds; Lance Crabtree, Northwest; David Born, Holmes; Josh Bartlett, Itawamba; Fredy Gutierrez, East Central; Michael Kiser, Itawamba; D'Antae Bush, Itawamba; and Zack Vickers, East Central.
The coach of the North Men was Matt Convertino of Holmes. East Central's Ken Thompson assisted.
