Boxx-Hale finish second in the MACJC State Tournament

Holmes Community College's Hunter Boxx and Darryl Hale finished second in the MACJC State Tournament here Saturday at Itawamba Commuity College.

Hale-Boxx got to the finals versus ICC by defeating duos from Northeast and Hinds. Hale-Boxx won 6-0, 6-0 versus Northeast and 7-5, 6-1 versus Hinds before falling to Itawamba 6-3, 6-0.

Hale and Hector Custode also advanced to the semi-finals in singles. Hale defeated Wade of Northeast, 6-1, 6-1 and Custode defeated Khek of Northeast 6-4, 7-5 on Thursday. Hale then fell to Itawamba, 6-2, 3-6, 6-2 while Custode fell 6-0, 6-1 on Friday. Grey Tedford, Brett Parker, Boxx and Jared Lyons fell in singles while Custode-Maccumber fell in doubles.
