Holmes splits with East Central, winning 2-0 and falling 16-0

GOODMAN --- The Holmes Community College Lady Bulldogs split two games here Monday with East Central Community College. The Lady Bulldogs won 2-0 and then fell 16-0 in the nightcap.

In game one, Kelsey Marter pitched the entire seven innings and gave up six hits striking out five and walking none. Faith McCorkle led the Lady Bulldogs with two hits while Kelsey Shaw, Allison Ray and Victoria Hunt each had one hit.

In game two, Ginny Mills suffered the loss. L'Shanna Evans led with two hits while Hunt and Alexus Moore had one hit each.

In Raymond on Feb. 25, Hinds took two games from the Lady Bulldogs, 5-4 in eight innings and 7-0.

In game one, Marter suffered the loss. She pitched 7 1/3 innings giving up five runs on nine hits striking out two and walking one. Kaitlyn Hicks led the Lady Bulldogs with two doubles. Kaitlyn Doles added a double while Hunt, Kayla Blakely, Frankie Maxwell and McCorkle each singled.

In game two, Ray suffered the loss. McCorkle, Doles, Hicks, Jonissa Buchanan and Blakely each had one hit.

In Goodman on Feb. 24, the Lady Bulldogs fell to Hinds 1-0 and 17-4.

In game one, Marter took the loss. She gave up five hits, struck out four and walked one. Hicks had two hits while Doles had a double and Maxwell and Lauren Tharp each singled.

In game two, Alecia McDaniel took the loss. Blakely and Maxwell each led the Lady Bulldogs with two hits while Tharp, Doles and Evans each had one.
